History

Wetlands & Wildlife is a conservation company that was founded by Mr Tom Brinkworth to hold land of significant conservation value for the benefits of future generations. It is hoped that it will prove a viable model for conservation in the private sector to complement the National Park systems.

In June 1993 the company and the public fund were admitted to the Register of Environmental Organisations and recognised as a charitable organisation which enjoys tax free status and can accept tax deductible donations gifted to the public fund.

Wetlands & Wildlife presently owns significant areas of land in two separate parts of South Australia:

Watervalley Wetlands comprises over 27,000 hectares of wetlands and heritage scrub land in the Upper South East.

Warraweena Conservation Park is a former 355 sq km pastoral property in the Northern Flinders Ranges that has now been destocked.
